Lodging at The Belvedere Bed and Breakfast at Peconic is a truly unique experience. As you enter this magnificent, regal home, you will feel as if you've gone back in time, to an age of elegance and gentility. This 130 year-old Victorian manor has been beautifully preserved and restored to its original elegance with the comfort of today's conveniences. Hand-painted fresco ceilings and walls grace the entryway, double-sized parlor, and staircase. It's been said that an old Whaling Captain first built this house, and artists came here to paint the ceilings and walls in exchange for room and board. It's a pity that no records were kept of the identities of those artists! |

Regal burgundy and gold is the color
scheme adorning the 12-foot ceilings and two Italianate marble
fireplaces. Ceiling to floor, original lead glass windows
encircle the dining alcove. Go up the beautiful hand-carved, winding staircase to two of the guest rooms that are newly decorated, with plush queen sized beds and private baths. There is a third room with a private bath on the first floor for our guests that require first-floor accommodations. |
